Here is an introduction of HAND FRAMED MOHAIR P/O from 21AW comm. arch. Women’s line.

Women’sラインがスタートした2017AWから素材もつくりも変わらずご紹介している唯一のアイテムになります。

We have been making this item since 2017AW, which we started the women’s line.

素材は、キッドモヘヤ、ウール、アルパカの混紡です。

キッドモヘヤとは、生後1年未満の小山羊から刈り取った、収穫量がとても少なく貴重なモヘヤで、それを40%も使用しているのでとても肌触りがよく、南米産のアルパカとの混紡なのでしっかりした弾力感もあります。

(南米産のアルパカやウールは、スポンジのような弾力感があるものが多いです。)

The material is the mixture of kid mohair, wool and alpaca.

The kid mohair is taken from less than 1 year old baby goat and the amount is very tiny every year. The alpaca is from the South America. The wool or alpaca from this kind of region has some kind of sponge like feeling.

このアイテムで忘れてはいけないのが、起毛加工職人のお世話にもなっていること。

仕上げに、1枚ずつ起毛加工機に人の手で入れて、表面の毛足を出しています。

ちまたでは、「アザミの起毛加工機」と言われていますが、厳密には「チーゼル」という植物でアザミとは別の植物です。

実際に、植物ではなくブラシがゴロゴロ付いている機械はあるのですが、このチーゼルの実を付いている起毛加工機は、ほぼ現存しないとのこと。

We cannot forget to tell that the brushing process is very important at the end of producing this item. A very skillful brusher works on one by one taking about half an hour on a piece.

In Japan, for some reason, this machine is called “ the machine of thistle brusher” but actually this is not a thistle but a teasel, which is very different.

There are this kind of machines with only brushes but only a few with those dried teasels on.
