A small family business, H. ROBINSON KNITTING MILLS was closed in early 80’s in North England. A knitter, Sue who worked as a hand knitter at the mill has been running a yarn shop and hand-knitting jumpers for the local people since she lost her job. The knitwear brand, H.ROBINSON KNITTING is started by Sue and her knitting community from 2014AW, named after her old job. They look for the best material and yarns spun in England, Ireland and Scotland, which has been rapidly decreasing. They combine the traditional technique of Aran knit and the modern color ways and fashion trend elements.
イギリス北部で80年代初頭に閉鎖した、家族経営のニットメーカー、H.ROBINSON KNITTING MILLS。当時、ハンドニットを担当し、現在は地元でヤーンショップを経営しているニッターによって再開されたニットブランド。20年〜30年間ニットを編み続けているベテランのニッターたちにより、ひと目ひと目編まれている。糸はイギリス、アイルランド、スコットランドで紡績されたナチュラル素材を使用し、伝統的なアランニットと現代のカジュアルファッションの要素をミックスしたニットウェアコレクションを作っている。コレクション製作はハンドニット、ハンドフレーム、ヨーロッパ製の自動編機などイギリス国内で古くから使われているニット生産の技術が使われている。
